Green Weatherization Training

Green Weatherization Training includes the following courses:

Building Principles
This class will provide students with an understanding of building science principals. Topics covered will include infiltration theory, diagnostic techniques, and hands on experience auditing a complex house.

Weatherization & Tactics
This class will cover approaches of whole house weatherization and installation techniques. Students will receive hands on training that will focus on areas of health and safety on the jobsite, air sealing, insulation placement, sealing ductwork, and using blower door guided air sealing techniques to weatherize a dwelling.

Mobile Home Inspection & Weatherization
This class will prepare students to complete energy audits on mobile homes. Students will receive training on installing materials and the specific problems and concerns that are encountered with Mobile Homes.

Program requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Students should not have any fear of crawling in small tight spaces.
Candidates should be advised of the extreme weather conditions involved in this field due to the nature of the work.
Classes are scheduled to run from October 25th—December 14th.
Monday – Thursday 8am —12 at the Greensboro GTCC Campus
